Quality assurance is a significant cornerstone of the National Qualifications Framework (NQF).REAL ITO has a responsibility to ensure assessment against the real estate unit standards is:

Moderation
Moderation is the quality assurance process REAL ITO uses to ensure the validity of the assessment process and the assessment decision. All assessment activities must be quality assured prior to their use. We check the decisions made by the assessor to ensure they are:

- Fair
- Valid
- Sufficient
- Consistent
