Privacy

You may browse and access information contained within this website without providing any personal information. Where you voluntarily provide personal information (for example, through online forms or email newsletters), REAL ITO will only use that information for the specific purpose stated. REAL ITO will keep any such information secure and will not disclose it to any third parties.

Security

When personal information is collected REAL ITO takes reasonable steps to keep that information secure and to protect that information from misuse or loss and from unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. Please note however that total security of data transmission over the internet cannot be guaranteed as being completely secure. Hence, we cannot guarantee and we do not warrant the security of information transmitted to us over the internet and you acknowledge that you do so at your own risk.

Email newsletters

You will receive email newsletters from REAL ITO if you have expressly signed up for a newsletter. You may unsubscribe to a newsletter service at any time using the unsubscribe link within each email sent by REAL ITO. The information we hold from subscribers to our email newsletters is not shared with other parties.

Unsolicited Electronic Messages Act

Under the Unsolicited Electronic Messages Act 2007 that came in effect on September 05, 2007 you must provide your consent to receive promotional emails. When you register as a member with REINZ you will be entered onto our e-newsletter list. We take your membership as an indication and acknowledgement that you would like to receive emails from us about REAL ITO. At any stage you may elect to opt out of our mailing list by sending an email to info@realito.co.nz or by selecting UNSUBSCRIBE on any of our newsletters.

Visitor tracking

This website has been designed to automatically issue a ‘cookie’ to visitors, and visitors’ cookie details are subsequently logged alongside visitor navigation throughout the website. This information is used to analyse overall visitor activities on the website, such as the number of repeat visitors, length of time spent on the website, and navigation throughout the website. We also use cookies in emails and within online member profiles to personalise content and track the interest of readers in our articles. With text newsletters, we track clicks to find out which links in the newsletter were clicked on. Details about individual visitor activities will not be disclosed to third parties.

Use of the REAL ITO logo

The REAL ITO logos must not be placed on an external website, or otherwise used by any external party, without the express approval of the REAL ITO board.

REAL ITO Competition Conditions of Entry

From time to time online competitions may be run from the REAL ITO website. Online entrants agree to their name and details being added to the REAL ITO customer database, and agree that REAL ITO may contact them from time to time with relevant promotional emails, until such time as you unsubscribe. This promotion is only open to New Zealand residents. This promotion runs for the dates specified on the entry form. Once the prize has been drawn it will be announced on the REAL ITO website. The prize is non transferable and not transferable for cash. The winner must collect the prize, or arrange for delivery at their expense. You may enter online only once, unless you refer a friend in which case you may enter again for each confirmed referral. Multiple online entries received without a refer a friend will be eliminated from the prize draw. Employees of REAL ITO may not enter competitions. The winner must agree to take part in any publicity arranged by the REAL ITO in association with this prize draw. The judge’s decision is final and no discussion will be entered into.

On job training

On job training is only available to those employed by a licensed real estate company.

You must attach a signed copy of your training agreement with your enrolment form.

You must agree that REINZ ITO, its staff, and its agents can distribute the information on the enrolment form to any person, department, agency or organisation for administrative purposes in respect of the enrolment.

If you are enrolling in the Salesperson’s course you must attach a copy of your fixed term employment agreement.

If you are enrolling in the Salesperson’s course you must not carry out any real estate agency work, nor can you hold yourself out to be a salesperson while training to gain your salesperson’s licence.

If the information supplied on the enrolment form or training agreement is subsequently found to be false, your enrolment may be cancelled and you will be liable for any costs incurred by REINZ ITO in cancelling your enrolment.

Assessment appeal process

REAL ITO has an assessment appeal process that is transparent and readily available to you. Should you wish to appeal an assessment decision, write to REAL ITO, PO Box 137 095, Parnell, Auckland, 11551, within 14 days of notification of the assessment decision explaining why you want to appeal the decision.

Re-assessment charges

Re-assessment is required if your assessor determines that you have not supplied the appropriate answers and/or documentation required for a task.  Your assessor will request that you provide more information and post it to him/her for re-assessment, you can use the label provided for this.  Your first assessment and your first re-assessment are free.

If a second re-assessment is required you will be charged $28.12 (inc GST).

If a third or more re-assessments are required you will be charged $112.50 (inc GST) for each one.

Withdrawals and refunds

Applications for withdrawal must be in writing. The date of withdrawal is the date when your written withdrawal is received by REAL ITO.

You will be eligible for a refund of fees providing your written application with returned material is received within the specified timeframe set out in the table below, and

  • no work has been received by the REAL ITO
  • no workshop has been attended (where applicable)

To receive a full refund less administration fees, you need to meet the criteria in the table below.
